Call emergency services
Seizures, delirium, severe confusion, difficulty breathing, or an immediate threat to safety warrant emergency care. Call 911 in the US.
If medication access is interrupted
If you may be physically dependent and are running out of medication, contact your prescriber, pharmacist, or urgent medical service promptly. Do not rely on online instructions to manage withdrawal.
Prepare your information
Keep an up-to-date list of medications, other substances, allergies, prior seizures, and healthcare contacts for clinicians.
Opioid and sedative combinations
Benzodiazepines mixed with opioids or alcohol can increase overdose risk. Naloxone reverses opioid effects, not benzodiazepine effects; emergency care is still necessary.
Crisis support
For emotional crisis in the US, call or text 988. For immediate medical emergencies, call 911.
